Lots of things have changed since I came out as the AzLean Soldier. A protector and hero of earth from aliens. Even though I enlisted into college, I'm beginning to feel like I'm meant for something much more important. Which is why my education has started to fall off a bit.
Luckily, due to saving earth from the Robanian aliens. It has brought me a lot of attention from people around me. It has made me one of the most popular students at our college. All of the girls look at me as the most handsome. Many of the boys, even the popular ones, look at me as a brother to them.
With all of this popularity, it actually made Peter get part of the cool kids as well. Since he's a friend of mine, it got him on the watchlist of many students. Asking him many questions about me and who I am. Though, I do fear that it might've brought too much attention.
Rumors spread around about spies from other countries, trying to find me. Though, for as much as it's just a rumor. It got me extremely worried about turning a corner and getting swarmed by a gang. So, to defend myself from just occasions. I keep the sword by me at all times.
Other than all of that, life for me has proven to have gotten easier. Paul and I go out to practice using the sword's abilities. Each time, we found more stuff that I'm capable of doing with the use of the sword. For example, we've tested how fast I was able to run while holding the sword. Which the tests resulted in a concluded speed of being too fast for our speedometers to calculate.
While testing out my strengths is fun to do, the police begged me to stop. Several times they have asked me to stop. Only for me to tell them each time that I'm not trying to hurt anybody and that I'm very careful. After the police got too annoying to deal with. We decided to hang out in a junkyard to continue our experiments.
That's about it on updates from me. So, to get started with what we are doing now. Peter and I came back to the dorm room after a long school day. The teachers grew much nicer to me since I became the AzLean Soldier. Two of which started to help make things easier for me by giving me longer due times than other students.
Peter got jealous of me, even to the point where he'd ask teachers why they do that. However, the teachers never give an answer. It's pretty funny seeing Peter struggle to comprehend my massive popularity status. I do feel bad for him, but I am just glad that he got a part of the best team at the college. It's a huge win for him, even if he may not be popular like me.
Anyways, enough about me. When we returned to the dorm room. My instant response was to check my messages. The unread messages have started to pile up so much to no return. Upon opening the messaging app, there were over seventy-five new messages.
I began reading through each one. Some had messages from other classmates, one was from my mother, and the rest were just randoms that I didn't recognize. Two classmate messages interested me enough to read through. One of them was asking if I had seen their dog recently. While the other was a guy asking for help about a threat.
I didn't feel like small tasks were my thing. A sword with limitless potential and power could be doing larger tasks. I didn't know what to tell the two classmates. I felt bad for ignoring them, but why exactly am I up to the task for such things? I destroyed an alien spaceship with powerful technology. I don't think simple tasks fit the kind of hero that I am.
I decided to check my mom's messages instead. Her final messages were asking how I was, and what I was doing right now. I decided to respond to her, opening the keyboard. I started to tap out a response, "Hey mom! Everything's going alright. College is actually going very well for me. Teachers are helping me and students love me. I'll text again soon!"
I tapped the send button, looking down at my response one last time before placing the phone down. I took a long lasting glance around me and Peter's room, before stretching my arms. I felt exhausted for the day, so I started getting myself ready for a nap. The day was already winding down, so luckily it wasn't too early. Besides, College can be very tough.
I put on my pajamas, and placed the sword underneath my bed. Then, I sat down on my bed before fully laying down. As my head laid back against the pillow. I yawned and closed my eyes, before falling asleep almost instantly from the comfort of the bed.
